Jane Fonda quoted in USA TODAY says she cries each time she
watches the three-hour documentary called A CENTURY OF WOMEN which she narrated and begins
airing tomorrow on one of her husband Ted Turner's cable stations. The show breaks from
the documentary form by including fictional scenes of women who gather for a weekend and
talk about gender issues.
Last night out at the Burbage Theater in West LA, Janes name
and reputation were very much a part of a new work of fiction, the world premiere of a
hard-hitting play, Paul Gillette's RED RIVER RATS about a latter day
reunion of eight elite Vietnam pilots (Gillette wrote the novel PLAY MISTY FOR ME,
from which the movie was adapted) if Jane hasn't heard about RED RIVER RATS
yet, or about some of the, shall we say, unflattering references to her past, she will
soon, though I doubt she will let anything in the script get under her skin at this late
date.
RED RIVER RATS is strong stuff, and a terrific evening of theater,
which I'll talk about more in detail sometime this week.

I surely recommend RED RIVER RATS. It has a solid all pro cast and
its good.
